HiperDino Continues Comprehensive Renovations in 2026
HiperDino, a prominent name in the supermarket sector across the Canary Islands, is ramping up its efforts in 2026 with a significant investment in the renovation of several of its establishments. In a recent development, the company proudly unveiled its newly revitalized HiperDino Express store located in El Cotillo, Fuerteventura.
A Significant Transformation
The El Cotillo store has undergone a complete transformation, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and functionality. The renovation has significantly increased the store’s retail space, now boasting 437 square meters dedicated to sales. This expansion is part of a larger area measuring 558 square meters, which accommodates various traditional product lines and new sections including bakery, fruit and vegetables, perfumery, wine cellar, organic goods, and frozen products.

Investment in Community Needs
Felipe Díaz, the Coordinator of HiperDino Express (HDX) in the Canary Islands, emphasized the importance of this renovation for meeting the demands of local customers. “This renovation not only modernizes our sections and services but also enhances operability and ultimately improves the quality of service for our customers,” he stated. This is particularly crucial in a high-tourism area like El Cotillo, which sees an influx of visitors nearly year-round.
Store Details and Accessibility
HiperDino Express El Cotillo is conveniently located at Calle Los Lagos, 7, and operates daily from 08:00 to 22:00. This accessibility is designed to cater to both locals and tourists alike, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their shopping experience.
A Commitment to Sustainable Practices
This renovation project also reflects HiperDino’s commitment to sustainability. The store features energy-efficient upgrades, such as LED lighting in the sales area and Danfoss tele-management technology. This system optimizes the operation of lighting, signage, air conditioning, and cold chain management, showcasing the company’s intention to operate responsibly while delivering excellent service.
Expanding the HDX Network
As part of its growth strategy, HiperDino is investing substantially in the renovation of its HiperDino Express outlets. Currently, the supermarket chain operates 93 HDX locations in the Canary Islands and is set to expand its footprint further by opening 21 additional HDX stores in Mallorca by the end of April. This expansion is aimed at increasing access to quality fresh products while catering to the tourist demographic that frequents the archipelago.
