As 2026 unfolds, HiperDino is ramping up its commitment to enhance customer experience across its establishments. Just a couple of weeks ago, the supermarket chain unveiled the transformation of its HiperDino Express El Cotillo store, located in the picturesque region of Fuerteventura. This overhaul marks a significant investment in both the local community and in modernizing the shopping experience.
Transformation of HiperDino Express El Cotillo
The El Cotillo store has undergone a complete makeover, resulting in an impressive increase in its operational space. With an investment nearing one million euros, the store now boasts 437 square meters dedicated to sales within a total area of 558 square meters. The newly revamped layout promises to accommodate not only the standard product aisles but also dedicated sections for bakery, fruit and vegetables, perfumery, a wine cellar, organic products, and frozen foods.
This transformation is not just about size; it is a response to the evolving needs of customers, particularly in a vibrant tourist destination like El Cotillo, which witnesses high foot traffic throughout the year.

Felipe Díaz, the coordinator of HiperDino Express (HDX) in the Canary Islands, expressed enthusiasm about the transformation, noting, “This renovation aligns our facilities with the commercial demand of our customers in the municipality. The improvements enhance not only the modernity of our sections and services but also operational efficiency and, ultimately, the quality of service we provide to our clients.”
Díaz highlights the strategic importance of ensuring that the store meets the expectations of tourists who frequently visit the archipelago, especially during peak seasons starting in April.
Expanding the HiperDino Network
In line with the renovations at El Cotillo, HiperDino is preparing for a year filled with significant investments across its HiperDino Express outlets. Currently, the supermarket chain operates 93 HDX locations across the Canary Islands and is set to open 21 HDX stores in Mallorca by the end of April. This expansion reflects the group’s commitment to providing fresh, local, and quality products that cater to both residents and visitors.
Energy Efficiency and Technological Advancements
The recent renovations aren’t just skin-deep; they also include substantial improvements in energy efficiency. The installation of LED lighting in the sales area is complemented by the introduction of Danfoss tele-management systems. These systems will efficiently manage the lighting, store signage, air conditioning, and maintain optimal operation of the cold chain. This focus on sustainability aligns with modern retail trends prioritizing eco-conscious operations.

HiperDino Express El Cotillo is conveniently located at Calle Los Lagos, 7, and is open daily from 08:00 to 22:00, making it accessible for both locals and tourists alike. This extended availability ensures that all guests can shop at their convenience, reinforcing HiperDino’s dedication to customer service.

By the end of 2024, HiperDino had expanded its reach to Mallorca, continually pushing its trajectory of success.
