Fuerteventura en Música: A Celebration Under the Stars

Every summer, El Cotillo, a beautiful coastal town in the municipality of La Oliva on Fuerteventura, transforms into a vibrant hub of music and culture. The highly anticipated Fuerteventura en Música (FEM) festival returns, offering an exciting lineup of artists that promises to engage attendees and elevate their spirits by the beach.

Exciting Lineup of Artists

This year’s festival features an impressive roster of over a dozen national and international artists, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles. The event kicks off with Rabiche at 8:00 PM on Friday, July 4th, setting the stage for a lively evening. Following Rabiche, Argentine singer Natalia Doco will take the spotlight at 9:10 PM, captivating the audience with her unique sound.

The night heats up as the iconic group of musicians takes the stage at 10:40 PM: Kiko Veneno, alongside Muchachito, El Canijo de Jerez, and Diego Ratón from Los Delinquentes, will present a blend of flamenco and pop that fans won’t want to miss. Closing out the first night are Calle Mambo at 12:40 AM and the Lehmanns Brothers at 2:20 AM, ensuring attendees dance into the early hours of the morning.

On Saturday, July 5th, the energy continues with David El Majorero-contraventura at 8:00 PM, followed by Roy Paci & Aretuska at 9:20 PM. Queen Omega & The Royals Souls will grace the stage at 11:00 PM, leading into a mesmerizing performance by Baiuca at 12:45 AM, and concluding with a DJ set from Kraak & Smaak at 2:30 AM.

Activities Beyond Music

In addition to the electric nighttime performances, FEM provides daytime programming, curated in collaboration with Cotillo Joven, a local cultural association. These activities aim to enrich the festival experience and foster community spirit throughout El Cotillo’s old town.

On Friday, July 4th, festival-goers can participate in a Cre-Activo instrumental workshop using recycled materials, hosted by creative instructor Alessandro Ferrato. This engaging workshop will be held in the public square of El Cotillo, offering a hands-on experience to inspire creativity.

Later in the day, at 6:00 PM, the festivities will come alive with a joyful pasacalle led by The Plunger Dixie Band, parading from the town square to the picturesque Playa de la Concha.

The following day, Saturday, July 5th, will see a shift in location as activities move to the Muellito area starting at 12:00 PM. The musical ambiance will be fueled by DJ Papaya Subtropical, along with Sudakita and El Yeye, keeping the energy high throughout the day.
