La Playa de la Concha de El Cotillo is buzzing with excitement as it gears up for the 16th edition of the Fuerteventura en Música (FEM) festival, set to take place on July 1st and 2nd. This annual event has become a staple of the summer calendar, and this year promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors alike.
Setting the Stage
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura is in the final stages of preparing a spectacular 300-square-meter stage that will host an array of talent from around the world. Attendees can look forward to performances by a diverse lineup of international, national, and local artists, with concerts kicking off at 8:00 PM both days. Hosted by the charismatic Alejandro Frey and Rebeca Tabares, the festival aims to be a celebration of music and community spirit.

Sergio Lloret López, the president of the Cabildo, emphasized the importance of this festival, stating, “Fortunately, we are recovering one of the great events of the summer.” He encourages everyone to come out and enjoy not just the fantastic music but also the incomparable natural surroundings of El Cotillo. Alongside him in the preparations were key figures, including Vice President Claudio Gutiérrez and Culture Councillor Rayco León, highlighting the collaborative effort that brings FEM to life.

Each artist promises to bring their unique style, contributing to the festival’s rich musical tapestry.
The following day, Saturday, July 2nd, features even more exciting performances, with Puerto Candelaria (Colombia), Skatalites (Jamaica), The Grooves (Madrid), Serial Killerz (Barcelona), and local favorite Aceysele taking the stage. This diverse array of musical genres ensures that there will be something for everyone, appealing to various tastes and preferences.

Beyond the main performances, this edition of FEM includes a plethora of parallel activities that will take place from July 1st to 3rd. Organized by the Cultural Department in conjunction with the Cotillo Joven cultural association, these activities aim to energize the village of El Cotillo.

The programming kicks off with a lively parade on Friday, July 1st, at 7:00 PM from the Plaza de El Cotillo. The weekend will continue with an assortment of music workshops suitable for all ages, children’s environmental workshops, and more live performances, enriching the festival experience and promoting community engagement.
