The Fuerteventura Música Festival (FEM) 2026 is revving up in the hours leading to the main evening concerts with a vibrant daytime program that will fill various spaces in El Cotillo with music, workshops, cultural activities, and proposals linked to sustainability.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the festival will be held on July 3rd and 4th at La Concha beach in El Cotillo, under the municipality of La Oliva. True to its identity over the last twenty editions, the festival aims to provide an open, free cultural experience that connects with its surroundings, where music intertwines with creativity, environmental education, and cross-cultural dialogues.

Daytime activities kick off on Friday, July 3rd, in the public square of El Cotillo with the creative workshop titled ‘Don’t Throw Anything, Touch It First.’ Led by sound artist Alessandro Ferrato, participants will transform reused materials and everyday objects into musical instruments, blending artistic experimentation with environmental awareness.

The day will continue with a lively street parade featuring the batucada group Corumba from El Cotillo, making its way through the town to La Concha beach. This parade invites both residents and visitors to join in the festive atmosphere of the FEM.

On Saturday, July 4th, events will shift to Muelle Chico, where the collective Papaya Subtropical, led by music selectors Sudakita and El Yeye, will present a session focused on root music and contemporary global sounds. This has become a significant cultural reference point for alternative music on the island over the past few years.

Additionally, a workshop on Afro-Guinean dance and percussion will be organized by the African Percussion Association of Fuerteventura, which aims to bring the rich cultural heritage of West Africa to the island through music, dance, and intercultural interaction. Live music will be provided by Naby Zana Band, fronted by Guinean artist Naby Cámara. Their performance fuses traditional African rhythms with Canarian and Latin American influences.

The programming will conclude with a performance by Chocolate Sexy, a unique group from Fuerteventura blending rap, Caribbean rhythms, and urban influences.

The twentieth edition of the FEM will be hosted by renowned local communicator Pilar López, one of the most recognized voices on Fuerteventura radio. With over two decades of experience in music and entertainment programming, she will guide audiences through the various activities and concerts of the festival.

At night, the main stage at La Concha beach will feature a lineup of local, national, and international artists across two evenings—a momentous celebration for the festival’s 20th anniversary.
