From May 6 to May 10, 2026, gastronomy, sports, and nature will come together in the seventh edition of Paladea La Oliva. This event has solidified its place in La Oliva’s calendar, organized by the Town Hall in collaboration with the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and Promotur of the Government of the Canary Islands. The event aims to attract over 15,000 visitors, reaffirming its role as an economic engine and showcase for local products in a unique volcanic setting.
Culinary Offerings for Every Palate
This edition will feature 23 restaurants spread across 21 stands, some of which will be shared, illustrating the vibrancy of the local hospitality sector. The culinary offering will range from traditional Majorcan dishes to Italian, charcoal-grilled delicacies, and innovative cuisine.
Prominent establishments like Restaurante Oum, La Fábrica de las Croquetas, Restaurante La Puipana, Restaurante El Invernadero, Restaurante El Horno, Olivo Corso, and Il Gatto Rosso will showcase the area’s gastronomic diversity, blending tradition with innovation.
One of the main attractions will be the showcooking program, featuring renowned chef Víctor Suárez from Tenerife, who has been awarded a Michelin star for his restaurant Haydée by Víctor Suárez. Alongside him will be recognized chefs like Yareli Pérez, Alexis Morales, Borja Cabrera, and Massimo Avarelli, who will emphasize local produce and culinary talent from the island through live demonstrations.
Local Producers and Competitions Showcasing Island Identity
Local identity will also be represented by producers and artisans such as Top Sweet Ice Cream, Vrebac Gelato, Ahu Mados Fuerteventura, Agua Guanches, and artisan knife maker José Juan Sosa Perdomo.
Collaborating with Fuertegourmet, there will be contests for the best dessert featuring Majorcan cheese, the best mojo, and the best tapa. The beverages section will include tastings and demonstrations featuring brands like Cerveza Victoria, Royal Bliss, the Freixenet group, and wineries such as Arautava, Tindama, and Piedras de San Pedro.
Sports and Nature: A Unique Active Experience
Sports will once again take center stage with a 10-kilometer trail and a hiking route, along with a challenging 50-kilometer mountain bike race through volcanic landscapes. This latter event will feature the participation of local champion Antonio Padrón, a regional reference and winner of prestigious races like Fudenas and Ultrabike.
With activities for children and live music, Paladea La Oliva 2026 promises a holistic experience where tradition, sport, and landscape blend together to promote Fuerteventura as a premier gastronomic and active destination.
