As Fuerteventura continues to attract investors, the island’s commitment to enhancing local employment opportunities is evident through initiatives like the New Employment Opportunities (NOE) 2025 program.
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura recently concluded the complementary training phase of the NOE 2025 program, an initiative designed to bolster the employability of young participants by providing hands-on work experience across various departments. Spearheaded by the Department of Employment Promotion under the leadership of Nuria Cabrera, the program has empowered approximately twenty young graduates from universities and vocational training institutions.
In May, participants engaged in specialized training on information and communication technologies (ICT) conducted by ADECCO. This training encompassed crucial skills required to navigate today’s digital landscape, including the management of digital certificates, electronic administration, and the use of identification systems like Cl@ve and DNIe. Additionally, sessions focused on digital security, internet privacy, and fraud prevention.
Participants also gained practical expertise in essential office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Further, they explored content creation for digital platforms, social media communication strategies, and entrepreneurship tactics tailored for job hunting in the digital sphere.
The program also provided a career guidance component, led by the Adsis Foundation, emphasizing personal branding, professional networking, and techniques for an active job search.
The NOE 2025 program is supported by a significant investment of 1.1 million euros, which also covers training in equality, occupational risk prevention, environmental awareness, relevant legislation, and personal employment skills.
Co-financed by the Canary Islands Employment Service and the European Social Fund Plus as part of the FSE+ Canary Islands 2021-2027 Program, this initiative reflects a collaborative effort between the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN). This strategic approach not only enhances the skills of young professionals but also fosters a robust talent pool poised to contribute to the island’s economic growth and vitality.
