Sennheiser and FBT Technology at the First Edition of El Cotillo Live Music in Fuerteventura

The Audio Systems of Sennheiser and FBT Set the Stage for El Cotillo Live Music Festival

In the heart of Fuerteventura, one of the stunning Canary Islands, the inaugural El Cotillo Live Music Festival sprang to life this past August. A celebration of sound and culture, this festival not only featured vibrant performances but also showcased a remarkable audio experience, thanks to the impressive contributions from Sennheiser and FBT.

The Role of PDA Sistemas y Producciones

The local rental company, PDA Sistemas y Producciones, played a pivotal role in bringing this festival to fruition. They were tasked with creating an immersive audio and lighting setup that would enhance the festival atmosphere. This year’s event set new records for the company, showcasing their extensive capabilities in handling large-scale audio equipment for live events.

The Stage and Sound Setup

Nestled in the town’s football field, the stage for El Cotillo Live Music was a technical marvel. It featured the largest setup ever executed by PDA using FBT systems. The array included 34 units of the auto-amplified Muse 210LA line array, which provided crystal-clear sound across the venue. Alongside this, 14 Mitus 218SA sub-bass units deepened the auditory experience, anchoring the performance with robust bass.

In addition to these, the setup also integrated eight Ventis 112 MA systems and four units each of the X-Sub 18SA and X-Lite SA models, ensuring that every corner of the venue was engulfed in rich sound.

Advanced Microphone Technology

To further elevate the quality of sound, the festival utilized advanced microphone technology from Sennheiser. This included two EM 2050 receivers, four SKM 2000 handheld transmitters equipped with KK205 capsules, and four SR 2050 IEM (In-Ear Monitor) systems. Such high-quality equipment ensured that each artist’s voice resonated perfectly, whether through the powerful PA system or in the individual monitoring setups for performers.

Lighting Design that Dazzles

Beyond audio, the lighting design contributed significantly to the festival’s ambiance. Fourteen Beam 17R CMY projectors, ten Beam 10R fixtures, and nine Wash Zoom LEDs were employed to create stunning visual effects that danced in sync with the music. Additionally, twelve LED strobes and six LED blinds complemented the lighting palette, adding layers of visual excitement that enthralled festival-goers.

Notable Performers

The festival also brought a diverse lineup of artists to the stage, enriching the event’s cultural fabric. Notable performers included Juan Magán, known for his captivating electro-latin beats, and Venezuela’s Carlos Baute, who brought his unique flair to the festivities. The twin sister duo K-Narias, celebrated for their Gold Disc achievements in Spain, also made an appearance, contributing to a lively atmosphere brimming with talent.

A Celebration of Culture and Sound

With such impressive audio standards and a vibrant array of performances, the El Cotillo Live Music Festival emerged as a significant cultural moment in Fuerteventura. The combination of Sennheiser’s advanced microphone technology and FBT’s cutting-edge audio systems created an experience that was both rich in sound and mesmerizing in visuals.

As this festival marks its first milestone, it sets a promising precedent for future events, ensuring that attendees can expect memorable musical experiences complemented by world-class sound and lighting technology.
