The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Ministry of Education, has opened a new call for practical training scholarships aimed at students of university degrees and Vocational Training training cycles. These grants will allow the beneficiary students to carry out training internships between July 15 and August 31 in public and private entities on the island participating in the program, thus facilitating a first work experience linked to their studies. The deadline to submit applications will open on Monday, March 30 and will remain available until April 14, through the program’s official website. The scholarships have a financial award of 2,092.50 euros for university students and 1,360.13 euros for Vocational Training students. The president of the Cabildo, Lola García, highlighted the trajectory of this program, which she described as pioneering, and which has allowed for more than twenty years to offer a job opportunity to more than 3,000 students on the island. For his part, the Minister of Education, Adargoma Hernández, stressed the importance of this initiative to facilitate youth employment, pointing out that “it represents a real opportunity for students to have their first contact with the world of work.” The program is developed not only in the Cabildo itself, but also in city councils and other collaborating entities, consolidating itself as a key tool to connect academic training with professional experience. To submit the application it will be necessary to have a digital certificate. The insular institution reminds us that the Insular Youth Center offers support for obtaining this certificate, thus facilitating access to the procedure. In the case of minors, the application may be signed by parents or legal guardians using their own digital certificate. With this call, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura reinforces its commitment to training, youth employability and the retention of talent on the island.
