On a recent Tuesday, the President of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Marcial Morales, alongside the Councilor of Public Works, Edilia Pérez, visited the ongoing works at the roundabout leading to Los Lajares. Morales emphasized that the aim of these projects is clear: to leave the island’s roads in optimal condition. He stated, “Fuerteventura must maintain excellent communication routes, which are essential for the island’s development and tourism.”
Edilia Pérez added to this vision, noting, “These efforts will allow Fuerteventura to boast more modern, navigable, and comfortable roads for all users.” The optimism in their voices reflects the shared commitment to improving the island’s infrastructure.
Part of a Broader Plan
These current projects are part of the broader Plan for Improvement and Maintenance of the Insular Road Network by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura. This plan includes not only surface repairs but also the expansion and beautification of road margins and the enhancement of access to the main road network.
Future Projects on Horizons
Looking ahead, the Cabildo has ambitious plans for even more extensive road improvements. This year alone, they are set to address another 70 kilometers of the insular roads. Notable projects include:
