A lifeguard successfully rescued a British family from drowning at Grandes Playas in Fuerteventura. The lifeguard, a member of the IBE rescue team from La Oliva, ran 150 meters to reach the family and kept four individuals afloat until additional help arrived. Among those rescued was a child who reportedly arrived on shore with a rapid heartbeat and was subsequently transported to the Hospital General de Fuerteventura for medical attention. Witnesses at the scene provided this information.
