Free Leisure and Free Time Monitor Course in La Oliva

The La Oliva Town Hall, through its Local Development Department headed by Alexandra Martín, is excited to announce a new edition of the Course for Leisure and Free Time Monitors. Scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of May, this session will take place at the El Cohombrillo Hostel in Lajares. This initiative forms part of the town’s ongoing efforts to enhance employment readiness and is aimed specifically at unemployed residents of La Oliva aged 16 years and older—both youth and adults alike. The primary goal of this training is to not only boost participants’ employability but also to impart knowledge about the educational leisure sector and socio-cultural animation.

The course curriculum is comprehensive and covers essential topics such as leisure and free time management, as well as first aid and risk prevention. What’s particularly noteworthy is that this training is officially accredited by +GestionCanarias, lending further credibility to the qualifications participants will earn. Attendance at this course serves as a genuine gateway into the local labor market, with potential career paths in diverse areas related to animation and community work.

Course for Leisure and Free Time Monitors

This year marks a unique twist: for the first time, the course will be offered in an intensive format, providing an immersive experience by allowing students to stay at the hostel over the two days of the training. This approach aims to foster a hands-on, interactive learning environment that reinforces the skills being developed. As an added benefit, the course is completely free, as it is fully funded by the Local Development Department. This generous offering includes not just the training but also accommodation and meals for all participants.

Enrollment is set to take place in person on April 21st and 22nd at the Deputy Mayor’s Office in Corralejo, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. During these two days, attendees will be able to collect application forms, receive detailed information about the course, and obtain a provisional registration number. Following this, students will need to finalize their registration by submitting the completed application form along with the required documentation between April 23rd and 25th, also at the Deputy Mayor’s Office.

For those who receive a provisional registration number but are unable to attend in person, there is the option to formalize their enrollment by sending the necessary documents via email to the department. Interested parties can reach out at desarrollolocal@laoliva.es, ensuring to adhere to the specified deadlines—applications received after that date will not be accepted, either in person or by email.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Local Development Department at La Oliva Town Hall via the aforementioned email or by calling 928 53 53 12, extension 2. This initiative stands as an excellent opportunity for those looking to enhance their skills and secure a position within the vibrant sectors of leisure and community service.
