The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Sports, has acquired new material aimed at improving the development of nautical activities, among them the educational program ‘Blue Week’, a consolidated initiative within the sports and training offer of the island institution. The incorporation of this equipment will improve the safety, quality and organization of activities linked to the marine environment, also facilitating a better response to the different initiatives that promote the practice of water sports on the island. As explained by the Sports Councilor of the Cabildo, Luis González, this action is part of the line of work that the institution maintains to reinforce sports programs of an educational, social and integrative nature, providing them with resources that allow expanding and consolidating an accessible offer adapted to the needs of citizens. The ‘Blue Week’ continues its journey around the island The ‘Blue Week’ program continues to develop in the different municipalities of Fuerteventura with the participation of around a thousand schoolchildren. Currently, the activity is held in Morro Jable, where it will remain from March 10 to 26, with the participation of educational centers in the municipality of Pájara. Three schools in the municipality participate in this phase of the program, with a total of 120 students, who take part in various activities aimed at knowledge of the marine environment and introduction to nautical sports modalities. The objective of this initiative is to bring the school population closer to the maritime environment of the island through educational experiences that encourage the practice of sports, respect for the natural environment and learning values ​​linked to teamwork and coexistence.
