The feature film by Javier Veiga will premiere in theaters on December 5
The movie Playa de Lobos has released its official trailer, which can be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17f5TTySoJ/. Shot entirely in Fuerteventura during 2024, the film will hit screens across Spain on December 5, bringing a piece of Fuerteventura to the big screen.
Playa de Lobos is a comedy directed by Javier Veiga, featuring a cast that includes Dani Rovira, Marta Hazas, Antonio San Juan, and Veiga himself. The film was shot in various municipalities such as Antigua, Pájara, Puerto del Rosario, La Oliva, and Betancuria. Over five weeks, the production employed 280 extras sourced through local casting, marking an investment of approximately one million euros in the local economy.
The main setting for the film is Playa de la Guirra in Caleta de Fuste (Antigua). Additional filming locations include the Corralejo Dunes road, Puerto de Corralejo (La Oliva), the historical town of Betancuria, and private areas in Tefía and Costa Calma.

The production received consultation and management support from the Fuerteventura Film Commission, as “film shoots present a significant opportunity for local economic diversification, leaving behind investments and jobs in Fuerteventura,” remarks the area’s councilor, Nereida Calero.
In this light, it is crucial to continue promoting the development of the audiovisual industry on our island, always doing so in a manner compatible with respecting the territory and landscapes.
Playa de Lobos is produced by Mediolimón, Zebra (Grupo IZEN), and Epos Cine, with support from RTVE and collaboration from Pampa Films. It will be distributed in Spain by Tripictures, with Marta Hazas and Sara Fernández-Velasco serving as executive producers of the film.
The movie narrates the story of two entirely opposite characters who meet at sunset at a beach bar facing the Islote de Lobos. Manuel, a local Andalusian, and Klaus, a tourist from Argentina, appear to be as different as a small Malaga tavern and a Patagonian barbecue. While Manuel works at the beach bar, Klaus is reluctant to leave his sun lounger. This sets the stage for an apparently absurd conflict between the two protagonists: one wants to finish his shift and go home to sleep, while the other desires just one last beer and to remain gazing at the moon.
