Construction Begins on 77 Affordable Rental Homes in Corralejo

New Developments in La Bocaina de Corralejo: Affordable Housing and Enhanced Infrastructure

The construction of affordable housing in La Bocaina de Corralejo has officially commenced, spearheaded by the Instituto Canario de Vivienda (ICAVI) and made possible through the generous land transfer from the Ayuntamiento de La Oliva. This initiative is a direct response to the pressing demand for housing in the area and will result in the creation of 77 affordable and quality rental units, marking a significant step towards improving living conditions for local residents.

A Broader Vision for Housing

This project forms part of a comprehensive strategy initiated by the local government, which aims to tackle the critical issue of housing availability in the region. Alongside the 77 new homes in La Bocaina, additional plans are underway for the construction of 48 more housing units in Panorama Tres Islas. Collectively, these projects aim to increase access to dignified living conditions for the residents of La Oliva and create a more stable economic environment for families in the area.

Addressing Parking Needs

In addition to housing, the municipality is also focused on addressing the pressing need for parking in Corralejo. The city is currently in the bidding phase for the first of several parking projects, set to be developed at the Estación de Guaguas. This modular structure will feature approximately 364 parking spaces across two levels, expanding access and easing congestion in this bustling town. Furthermore, a second project is in the pipeline for Calle Palangre, which will add another 164 parking spots to accommodate local demand.

Leadership’s Commitment to Community Well-being

The Mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, underscores the local government’s commitment to addressing housing challenges systematically. He emphasizes that the construction of 77 homes in La Bocaina is just the beginning of a broader mission. “We understand the evolving reality our town faces, and our approach is holistic. We aim to ensure our residents have access to dignified housing while simultaneously investing in new parking facilities to improve mobility,” he stated in a recent press release.

Working Toward a Secure Future

First Deputy Mayor Julio Santana echoes this sentiment, expressing the administration’s dedication to making La Oliva a safe and affordable place for families. He highlighted that the ongoing initiatives not only enhance housing availability but also significantly improve residents’ quality of life. “We are eager to see the advancement of projects in Panorama Tres Islas and the development of new parking spaces that will benefit our community.”

A Commitment to Integral Development

The ongoing efforts by the local government reflect a strong commitment to enhancing the overall quality of life for the citizens of Corralejo. By focusing on two critical demands—affordable housing and sufficient parking—the initiative aims to align with the new realities faced by the residents of La Oliva, paving the way for a thriving community. Whether through new homes or improved infrastructure, the initiatives symbolize hope and progress for many families awaiting a more secure and accessible living environment.
