The Cabildo of Fuerteventura welcomes people who participate in the Dual Insertion Training Program and the English Language Preparation and Accreditation Program | Radio Sintonía The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has welcomed today, March 19, the more than fifty people who participate this year in the Dual Insertion Training Program and the Preparation and Accreditation Program in English Language promoted by the Department of Employment Promotion, with the management of the University Foundation of Las Palmas. The Dual Insertion Training Program will allow 23 recent university graduates and vocational training graduates to develop internships in twenty companies and entities in Fuerteventura. This initiative facilitates access to the labor market through non-work internships, complemented by theoretical training in skills for employability, languages, digital and transversal skills. Due to the success achieved in previous editions, the number of beneficiaries has been expanded, from 14 to 23 participants. On the other hand, a total of 31 people participate in the English Language Preparation and Accreditation Program, a free initiative that seeks to improve language training and facilitate obtaining an official accreditation in English. Students will receive one hundred hours of online training and tutoring sessions, depending on the level they are at. The program includes a subsequent official accreditation exam (Oxford University), and, new this year, a language immersion course in which eight people will participate. For the island president, Lola García, she explained that, between both programs, the investment amounts to 321,000 euros, co-financed between the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Government of the Canary Islands, through the resources of the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN). “It is essential that we continue to promote this type of training actions that are linked to employment in Fuerteventura, from which not only the participants benefit, but also the companies, which are fundamental in this project,” García added. “We have the most prepared youth in recent years and we must support that talent so that it can stay on our Island.” The Minister of Employment Promotion, Nuria Cabrera, has highlighted the close collaboration that exists between the Cabildo and the Las Palmas University Foundation to be able to carry out this type of actions in Fuerteventura. “Every year, the demand to participate in the programs we develop with the FULP is greater, so we have increased the number of participants.” As managing director of the FULP, Eduardo Manrique de Lara, has valued programs that combine training with the acquisition of different skills in order to improve their access to the labor market. In the case of the Dual Insertion Training Program, “with very good results in Fuerteventura, achieving job placement for about 65% of the students who participate, reinforcing employability on the Island.” In this sense, Manrique thanked the Council for the effort it makes to maintain them year after year.
