The Arrival of El Luminara: A New Era of Luxury Cruising
This morning, the serene waters of Puerto del Rosario welcomed a new marvel of luxury cruising: El Luminara, the third superyacht to join The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. As it docked at the cruise terminal, it brought along an exclusive gathering of 400 affluent passengers on a journey rich in elegance and exploration. Having embarked from Gibraltar and previously anchored at Arrecife, this luxurious vessel is currently on a nine-day itinerary traversing through the stunning Canary Islands.
A Dream Voyage Begins
El Luminara set sail from the renowned Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, on July 20. Following its inaugural journey through the Mediterranean in August, where it charmed an elite group of VIPs, the yacht has made a strong impression in its short time at sea. The anticipation surrounding its arrival in the Canary Islands adds to the excitement, marking a new chapter in luxury travel.
Impressive Specifications
This ultra-luxury yacht boasts impressive dimensions with a length of 242 meters, a beam of 29 meters, and a draft of 6.2 meters. Accommodating 452 guests, El Luminara features 226 opulent suites, each outfitted with a private terrace, ensuring uninterrupted views of the endless horizon. What sets this yacht apart is its state-of-the-art propulsion system that runs on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), coupled with cutting-edge Wärtsilä engines that significantly reduce emissions, underscoring the yacht’s commitment to sustainability.
Investment in Luxury
The Ritz-Carlton has poured nearly 700 million euros into creating this luxurious masterpiece, aiming to redefine the standards of premium tourism. El Luminara is the third vessel of its kind, designed for travelers who frequently indulge in the exquisite hospitality the Ritz-Carlton brand is known for.
A Cultural Experience Onboard
One of the yacht’s most captivating features is its dedication to art and design. El Luminara is home to around 700 pieces of artwork, with an impressive 65% of these specifically commissioned for the ship. The collection includes works from renowned artists like Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder, and David Hockney. Each piece has been carefully curated to inspire and captivate, transforming the yacht into a floating gallery.
Indulgence at Every Turn
Among the numerous luxurious amenities, the Art Bar located on Deck 9 stands out as a must-visit spot. This elegant bar is one of seven on the yacht, each exuding a unique charm. As guests sip their cocktails, they can marvel at the extraordinary luminous sculpture that spans seven decks, showcasing a seamless blend of interior design and a vibrant nautical experience.
A Taste of Exclusivity
As El Luminara embarks on its inaugural voyage through the Canary Islands, it has already made a mark with its port visit in Puerto del Rosario. Renowned travel publications highlight the luxurious journey, noting that a nine-day suite on this exceptional yacht comes at a premium, costing around 35,000 euros per suite. This price mirrors the exclusivity and luxury woven into every facet of the experience.
Setting Sail for Tomorrow
With El Luminara’s arrival, the bar has been raised for luxury cruising. Committed to quality, artistry, and environmental sensitivity, this yacht is not just about the destination but the journey itself. Passengers are likely to enjoy a plethora of meticulously crafted experiences, from gourmet dining to unique cultural encounters, as they sail through the azure waters of the Canary Islands.
