The excitement is palpable as the ninth edition of the Fuerteventura Reggae Festival gears up to take place this Saturday at the Campo de Fútbol Jonathan Sesma. With an anticipated attendance of just 1,000 people, this event promises a blend of international and local talent, making it a must-attend for reggae enthusiasts.

On February 28, Corralejo will transform into the reggae hub of the Archipelago, hosting a 12-hour event filled with vibrant music from 4 PM to 4 AM. This year’s festival has grown in stature, standing out as one of the premier reggae events in the Canary Islands, drawing fans from across various islands. The relocation to Jonathan Sesma Football Field aims to enhance logistics and accessibility, ensuring a hassle-free experience for attendees.

Supported by the Cultural Council of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and in collaboration with the Sports Council of La Oliva, the festival showcases an impressive lineup. Headliners like Mellow Mood, Sr. Wilson, Chalart58, and Ras Kuko will share the stage with regional talents such as Barrabass Sound System and The Queen of Bass, making it an eclectic mix of sounds and styles.

Reggae music, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, transcends mere sound; it tells stories, expresses struggles, and fosters community.
