Organized by the Antigua City Council through the Office of Celebrations and in collaboration with the local Fiesta Commission, the event promises a weekend full of joy and excitement for residents and visitors alike.

A Community-Driven Celebration

Mayor Matías Peña emphasizes the festive spirit resonating throughout the municipality, stating, “It’s now the turn of Costa de Antigua, where the involvement of the residents’ association and local businesses, AEREA, along with bar, restaurant, and entertainment promoters, ensures a diverse and entertaining lineup suitable for all ages and tastes.” This communal effort highlights how local stakeholders come together to create an inclusive and engaging atmosphere for everyone.

A Festive Agenda Tailored to Local Preferences

The activities and performances are specifically tailored to the desires of the community, reflecting the preferences of Costa de Antigua’s residents. According to Jonathan Peña, the Councilor of Celebrations, “The acts, concerts, and shows have been organized based on feedback from the locals, catering to their interests in flamenco, Celtic music, folk tunes, and popular hits from the 80s and 90s.” Each day will feature DJs and surprises, ensuring that younger attendees have just as much fun as adults.

Kickoff with a Vibrant Batucada

The festivities will commence on Friday, July 22, with a lively Batucada parade, marking the start of the celebrations. The parade will wind through the streets of Costa de Antigua from 5 PM, creating a festive atmosphere filled with rhythm and energy. Attendees can look forward to performances from renowned artists including Sergio Jiménez, known for his catchy flamenquito pop, along with Yuryina, Kevin Archer, Speekafeeks, and the night will be capped off with DJ Hafder spinning tracks until dawn.

Family-Friendly Activities

Saturday, July 23, is all about the little ones, beginning with a children’s party hosted by the Jiribilla animation group at 10:30 AM.
