This weekend marks the start of the vibrant 32nd International Kite Festival at La Concha beach in El Cotillo, bringing together 200 kite enthusiasts from eight different countries. Set against the stunning backdrop of Fuerteventura’s pristine beaches, the festival promises to be an unforgettable spectacle for locals and visitors alike. From October 8 to October 10, attendees can enjoy the fantastic displays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Grandes Playas de Corralejo.

The festival kicked off with special guests, including actress Marta Torné and the crew from the popular television show “Viajeros con B” airing on La Sexta. Special activities have been organized for local schoolchildren, with approximately 300 students visiting on the festival’s opening days at El Cotillo and Playa de El Burro.
Families can also look forward to animated activities tailored for children throughout Saturday and Sunday in Corralejo. One of the event’s highlights will be the traditional rokaku kite fighting scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday. Moreover, the festival will see its grand finale on Sunday, October 10, with a closing ceremony and awards presentation set for 2:00 PM.

The festival has attracted an impressive lineup of participants, with more than 200 kite flyers from countries including Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain.
