The 38th edition of the International Kite Festival in Corralejo has captivated audiences with its vibrant nights. This year’s program included the unprecedented debut of a spectacular show featuring over 300 drones—the largest drone show to date in the Canary Islands—along with live musical performances by the tribute band to Coldplay and Los Salvapantallas.

Both the Bay of Corralejo, where the drone presentations took place, and the Patricio Calero Square, which hosted live music, saw thousands of enthusiastic spectators filling the spaces on Friday and Saturday nights. The weekends were a whirlwind of sights and sounds that transformed the coastal town into a hub of community joy and interaction.
Friday Night: A Sky Full of Drones
Friday night, notable for its high turnout, kicked off with the world premiere of “Horizonte abstracto.” Over 300 drones synchronized to music floated gracefully across the sky, forming intricate 3D geometric shapes that left the audience in awe. Many gathered near the beach to witness the breathtaking choreography. The audience’s excitement peaked during the homage the show paid to the essence of Corralejo and its kites, resulting in loud applause and cheers.
Following the drone spectacle, the celebration continued as Patricio Calero Square erupted in a vibrant atmosphere for the performance of Tributo a Coldplay. Fans of the iconic British band sang along and danced to legendary hits such as “Yellow,” “Fix You,” and “Viva la Vida,” bringing a palpable energy to the night. Saturday saw the Bay of Corralejo once again bustling with visitors eager to experience the magic of “Viaje espacial,” the second drone show. The finale of the Wind and Sunset Festival 2025 was nothing short of spectacular. Los Salvapantallas took the stage for a unique concert commemorating their 25 years in the music scene. They performed beloved classics such as Elton John’s “Still Standing,” Village People’s “YMCA,” and “A quién le importa” by Alaska and Dinarama, turning Patricio Calero Square into a lively dance floor where everyone stood to celebrate.
