The Talentón program will be held again in Fuerteventura with a new edition aimed at promoting ingenuity, creativity and entrepreneurship among Majorera youth. The official presentation took place this Wednesday at the Island Youth Center of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, where the details of this initiative were announced, which reaches its third edition in the Canary Islands and the second on the Majorera island. The 2026 edition will bring together 50 young people on May 15 in an intensive day that will combine training, teamwork dynamics, mentoring and development of real projects linked to the island territory. The president of the Cabildo, Lola García, highlighted the importance of betting on this type of projects to generate opportunities among youth and move towards a more diversified and sustainable economic model. For his part, the Minister of Education and Youth, Adargoma Hernández, pointed out that El Talentón allows young people to connect with companies, mentors and investors, helping them transform ideas into projects with real development possibilities. From the organization, Estefanía Castro explained that the participants will work in multidisciplinary teams to solve challenges related to Fuerteventura, valuing skills such as leadership, creativity and communication. The program will culminate with a final presentation of projects to real investors and a voting system that will also include public participation. The winning team will enter the regional final to be held in September in La Palma, where they will be eligible for funding to develop their proposal. Among the new features of this edition are the incorporation of the popular vote, the final pitch to investors and greater media projection through audiovisual content and broadcast on Canarian Television. Additionally, during the regional final, the team that will travel to China as part of the program will be selected, with the aim of learning about new forms of innovation and business development. With this initiative, the Fuerteventura Cabildo reaffirms its commitment to training, employability and the development of young talent on the island.
