Ambitious Investment Plan for Puerto del Rosario: Enhancing Life Over Four Years
In an exciting development for the residents of Puerto del Rosario, the local government has approved a significant multi-year investment plan. This comprehensive initiative will allocate an impressive €9,529,660 to vital projects aimed at modernizing infrastructure and improving public services between 2026 and 2029. Designed to enhance the quality of life across neighborhoods and rural areas, this plan is one of the hallmark initiatives of the current legislative term.
Key Objectives and Framework
The planned investments are extensive and strategically outlined, necessitating a detailed budgetary approach that spans several fiscal years. The mayor, David de Vera, has emphasized the need to modify existing spending limits as outlined in the Law Regulating Local Finances. This modification is crucial to ensuring that all proposed projects can be executed effectively and sustainably.
Major Investment Breakdown for 2027
The year 2027 stands out as the focal point of these investments, with more than €7.3 million earmarked for robust projects. Among the standout initiatives is the resurfacing and renewal of services in the neighborhood of El Charco, which will receive €3.68 million. Another notable project includes enhancements in the Las Granadas neighborhood, where €1.34 million will be invested in service upgrades, resurfacing, and the installation of speed limiters.
Additionally, rural areas will benefit greatly from the plan, with over €715,000 allocated for speed limiter installations and road surfacing. This influx of funding is expected to significantly improve safety and accessibility in these regions.
Long-term Enhancements and Community Spaces
The plan also outlines substantial long-term projects, such as the improvement of Risco Prieto Park, which will be executed between 2026 and 2029. A budget of €1.44 million has been designated for this endeavor, encouraging the development of community spaces that residents can enjoy for generations to come.
Cultural and safety investments are also on the horizon. The cultural center at La Matilla will see €650,727 for upgrades, while the local fire station will benefit from €423,285. Improvements in coastal areas, such as Playa Blanca, will also focus on enhancing accessibility and facilities, ensuring that residents and visitors alike can enjoy Puerto del Rosario’s scenic shores.
A Vision for the Future
Mayor David de Vera is optimistic about the transformative potential of this unprecedented investment. He highlighted that the government’s commitment to enhancing services and modernizing the municipality goes beyond mere repairs; it’s about fulfilling “historical demands” of the local populace and laying the groundwork for a more prosperous, accessible, and sustainable future.
Ana Hernández, the councilor for Works, echoed this sentiment, stating that the multi-year plan aims to bolster road safety, secure essential services like sewage and water supply, and develop high-quality public spaces.
From a financial standpoint, Juan Manuel Verdugo, the councilor for Economy and Finance, reassured residents that this long-term planning will maintain legal security while ensuring that the necessary funds for these strategic initiatives are in place, without jeopardizing the municipal economy.
By committing to these significant investments, Puerto del Rosario is setting a course toward a revitalized community. Each euro is carefully allocated to enhance everyday life for residents across all neighborhoods, from the bustling center to the quieter rural areas.
