HiperDino Invests Nearly 1 Million Euros in Upgrading El Cotillo Express Store
In a significant move reflecting its commitment to enhancing customer experience, HiperDino has recently announced a substantial investment of nearly 1 million euros into the renovation of its HiperDino Express store located in El Cotillo, Fuerteventura. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize its retail outlets throughout the Canary Islands.
Comprehensive Renovation
The El Cotillo store has undergone a complete transformation, expanding its commercial space and modernizing its facilities. The store now boasts a sales area of 437 square meters within a total space of 558 square meters. This expansion allows for a more extensive range of product offerings, from essential grocery items to specialized sections like bakery, produce, perfumery, wine, organic products, and frozen goods.
Felipe Díaz, the coordinator for HiperDino Express (HDX) in the Canaries, expressed that this renovation addresses the growing commercial demands of local customers. “This initiative has not only modernized our sections and services but also improved efficiency and, ultimately, the quality of the service we provide to our customers, especially in a tourist-heavy area that is busy throughout the year, particularly from April onwards,” he stated.
Investments in Sustainable Practices
Beyond mere aesthetics and layout, the renovation has integrated energy-efficient solutions. The store now features LED lighting throughout the sales area, which is managed by advanced telemanagement systems from Danfoss. This technology optimizes the operation of lighting, signage, air conditioning, and the cold chain, significantly enhancing the store’s overall environmental efficiency.
Expansion in the Canary Islands
HiperDino is not just focusing on the El Cotillo location; it is investing heavily in its expansion plans across the Canary Islands. Currently, the supermarket chain operates 93 HDX stores in the Canaries and is set to have an additional 21 HDX stores in Mallorca by the end of April 2026. This initiative underscores HiperDino’s commitment to providing fresh, local, and quality products, particularly catering to the diverse needs of international tourists visiting the archipelago.
Commitment to Community and Employment
Founded in 1985, HiperDino has established itself as a leader in the Canarian market, contributing over 10,000 direct jobs. Its competitive pricing strategy, combined with an extensive selection of high-quality products, has fueled its sustained growth over the years. The brand’s expansion to Mallorca by the end of 2024 exemplifies its trajectory of successful growth and outreach.
HiperDino operates under various formats, including HiperDino, SuperDino, and HiperDino Express, and has bundled its operations into a network of over 293 stores. This intricate system includes logistic hubs, dark stores for online order preparation, and partnerships with bp through 38 DinoShop franchise locations.
Foundation and Social Responsibility
HiperDino’s commitment extends beyond business success; through the DinoSol Foundation, it actively supports its employees and drives programs that benefit the wider communities in which it operates. This commitment reinforces its role as a socially responsible business dedicated to fostering community well-being and economic growth.
The Future of HiperDino
With the recent investment in El Cotillo and ongoing expansion plans, HiperDino is strategically positioning itself to respond to the evolving needs of its consumers while maintaining a strong connection to its local roots. The company’s dedication to quality, sustainability, and community engagement marks a promising future for both the brand and its customers across the region.
