Anjoca: Pioneering Luxury Hospitality in Fuerteventura
A Visionary Company with a Rich History
Founded over six decades ago, Anjoca is a prominent real estate and construction company based in the heart of A Coruña, Spain. Beyond its roots in promoting residential and commercial developments, Anjoca has carved a significant niche in the tourism industry, operating under the brand Elba Hotels & Resorts. This young, innovative hotel chain boasts 16 properties along the stunning coastlines of Spain, including popular destinations in Canary Islands, Madrid, Balearic Islands, and Andalusia.
The New Gem: Elba Corralejo
Anjoca’s latest venture in Fuerteventura marks a pivotal expansion into the luxury hospitality sector. The Elba Corralejo resort, a four-star establishment, is set to redefine the local hotel landscape with a grand total of 478 rooms. With construction expected to wrap up in the late 2026, this ambitious project will soon be open to guests seeking a blend of comfort and luxury amidst the breathtaking backdrop of Fuerteventura.
Located on a sprawling 60,000 square meter plot, the Elba Corralejo is being developed with an impressive investment of around 100 million euros. This resort will not only enhance the local accommodation options but also bring an additional 1,000 beds to Fuerteventura, cementing its status as a prime tourist destination.
Exceptional Features and Amenities
The Elba Corralejo is far more than just a hotel; it is envisioned as a tranquil oasis designed for relaxation and rejuvenation. The resort will feature extensive landscaped gardens and leisure areas, including 26 pools, most of which are climate-controlled for year-round enjoyment. Guests can enjoy a serene environment that invites them to disconnect and unwind, surrounded by the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean.
Culinary enthusiasts will be thrilled by the variety offered within the resort, which will host seven restaurants and bars. Additionally, a luxurious spa will provide a range of health and beauty treatments, while a state-of-the-art fitness area will cater to guests looking to maintain their health during their stay. The accommodations will include 52 Swim-Up rooms and 15 elegant Junior Suites, further elevating the standard of comfort and privacy available to visitors.
Economic Impact and Job Creation
Elba Corralejo stands out as the largest project undertaken by Elba Hotels & Resorts in Fuerteventura to date. The significant investment and volume of accommodations it introduces will generate roughly 400 direct jobs, alongside an estimated 600 indirect jobs during the construction phase. This substantial boost to the local economy underscores Anjoca’s commitment to not only enhancing the island’s tourism sector but also energizing the job market.
The new hotel will anchor Fuerteventura’s position as an experiential and luxury destination, particularly benefiting from its Biosphere Reserve status since 2008. Anjoca’s investment aims to attract both national and international tourists, showcasing the island’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
A Long-Term Commitment to Excellence
Fernando de las Heras, the General Director of Elba Hotels & Resorts, has expressed his excitement about the Elba Corralejo project, highlighting its potential to fortify the company’s presence on the exciting island of Fuerteventura. He stated, “We are thrilled with the potential of Elba Corralejo, a hotel that will consolidate our commitment to promoting excellence in hospitality within this beautiful destination.”
Anjoca already has a solid foothold in Fuerteventura, operating six hotels, including the Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel and the Elba Sara Beach & Golf Resort. These establishments play a vital role in generating income for Anjoca’s operations, which reported a turnover of 180 million euros in 2025.
Employment and Growth Prospects
Headquartered in A Coruña on Menéndez and Pelayo Street, Anjoca employs around 2,000 individuals and has successfully developed over 7,000 residential units. Additionally, it manages more than 6,000 hotel beds, demonstrating its extensive reach within the hospitality and real estate sectors.
Through initiatives like Elba Corralejo, Anjoca not only enhances its portfolio but also fosters sustainable growth and community development in the regions it operates, positioning itself as a leader in the hospitality industry in the Canary Islands.
