Fuerteventura En Música 2025: A Melodic Celebration
This summer, music lovers will gather at the scenic beach of La Concha in El Cotillo, Fuerteventura, for the much-anticipated Fuerteventura en Música (FEM) 2025 festival. Scheduled for July 3rd and 4th, this festival promises a mix of rhythm, culture, and vibrant performances, featuring an electrifying lineup that showcases both local and international artists.
The Return of the G-5
The festival’s highlight will undoubtedly be the reunion of the iconic G-5: Kiko Veneno, El Canijo de Jerez, Diego Ratón from Los Delinqüentes, Muchachito Bombo Infierno, and Tomasito. This group of musicians has defined a unique blend of contemporary rumba and Andalusian flair, creating unforgettable melodies that spark joy and a sense of nostalgia. Their performance at the FEM follows years of anticipation, with fans thrilled to hear favorites from their only album, Tucaratupapi, released in 2006. Notably, this album will be available on vinyl for the first time, along with a remastered digital edition.
Eclectic Musical Styles
The festival isn’t limited to just one genre; it’s a melting pot of sound. The first evening will feature an impressive variety of artists. Joining the G-5 will be Lehmanns Brothers from France and Natalia Doco from Argentina, along with the Chilean group Calle Mambo and the local sensations Rabiche, led by Fajardo, a majorero who brings local flavor to the festival.
Saturday promises to keep the energy high with the legendary Queen Omega and her group The Royals Souls, who represent the reggae genre from Trinidad. Queen Omega’s standout track “No Love” has garnered international attention, further solidifying her role as a significant player on the global music stage.
A Diverse Lineup
The breadth of talent continues with artists across varying styles. Baiuca from Galicia will incorporate traditional Galician sound with electronic influences, proving that cultural roots can blend seamlessly with modern beats. Another must-see is Roy Paci & Aretuska, whose fusion of Mediterranean roots with Latin rhythms creates an exhilarating auditory experience.
From the Netherlands come Kraak & Smaak, known for their vibrant organic electronic music that mixes genres like disco, funk, and pop with ease. With an essential nod to her cultural origins, Natalia Doco enhances her performances with elements inspired by her ancestral tradition.
Local Talent Takes the Stage
The festival also showcases emerging artists like David El Majorero, who brings a fresh perspective to traditional Canarian music. His project Contraventura delves deep into the rich heritage of the Canary Islands, weaving stories and sounds of the archipelago into his performances.
With the local group Rabiche, festival-goers can expect an exciting fusion of sound, created by a collective of talented musicians who incorporate various musical styles into their performances.
A Celebration of Culture and Community
During the festival’s announcement, cultural advisor Rayco León emphasized the importance of multiculturalism and sustainability in the event. The FEM is not only a musical gathering but also a celebration of diverse cultures, showcasing how music can unite people from different backgrounds.
As attendees prepare for two electrifying nights filled with rhythms, dancing, and unforgettable experiences on the beaches of Fuerteventura, it is evident that FEM 2025 is set to be a highlight of the summer. With such a compelling lineup and the stunning backdrop of El Cotillo, this festival invites everyone to join in celebrating the power of music.
