Recently, the Guardia Civil of Morro Jable, in collaboration with the Local Police of Pájara, undertook a coordinated series of inspections targeting nighttime entertainment venues located along Avenida El Saladar. This initiative is part of a broader plan aimed at ensuring public safety, particularly in popular tourist areas. The inspections took place on June 29, addressing concerns about potential regulatory violations that could affect both residents and visitors.
Objectives of the Inspections
The inspections fall under the umbrella of the Safe Tourism Plans and the Police Response Plan for Drug Use and Trafficking in recreational zones. The primary objectives are to monitor compliance with legal requirements within these establishments, mitigate drug-related risks, and ensure the protection of vulnerable populations, especially minors. By closely inspecting documentation and implementing strict control measures, the authorities aim to foster a safe atmosphere for patrons and maintain the integrity of the local nightlife scene.
Findings from the Checks
During this series of inspections, a total of five venues were evaluated, and authorities reported discovering 23 infractions. These violations included breaches of the Law 7/2011, which pertains to classified activities, and Law 28/2005, which deals with health measures regarding tobacco use, including the sale and advertising of tobacco products. Notably, inspectors found no minors present in any of the establishments inspected, greatly alleviating concerns about underage access to alcohol and other substances.
Each of the 23 violations prompted the issuance of official reports—also known as actas-de-denuncia—which will be sent to relevant authorities for appropriate sanctions. This disciplined approach is crucial in promoting compliance and ensuring that all establishments adhere to health and safety regulations.
